JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on 10 July 1980, is an American singer-actress, actress as well as entrepreneur and philanthropist. Simpson signed with Columbia Records at the age of seventeen , having been in the church choir as a young girl. Sweet Kisses, her first studio album, was released in 1999. It was a huge success, selling two million copies across the United States. She also achieved commercial success of the hit single "I I Want To Love You Forever". Simpson adopted a more mature image for her second studio album, Irresistible (2001), and the album's title track was her second top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This Skin (2003) was her third studio album. It sold 3 million copies across America. Simpson's earlier career was marked by her marriage to Nick Lachey. She was also on MTV's reality television series Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica in 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her movie debut in The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce: The Christmas Album (2004). She also recorded the cover version of "These boots are made for Walkin'" for the film's soundtrack. Simpson released her fifth studio album, A Public Affair, in 2006, and was also featured in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. Simpson began her journey into country music with the release of Do You Know (2008) which was her sixth studio album. Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. It was a clothing-focused line featuring 34 categories of merchandise. The brand is the most successful famous licensing company ever, with over $1 billion in revenue to date. In 2010, she played in the reality series The Price of Beauty. She also acted as a judge for fashions for Fashion Star's two seasons, which ran from 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson, with whom she has three children.
